Veteran DICE developers Niclas Forsell and Filip Karlsson left big budget game development and formed indie development studio Cosmic Picnic with cartoonist John Holmvall and musician Joakim Kanon and in 2013. Five years later, in 2018, ADIOS Amigos: A Space Physics Odyssey released on Steam. A co-op adventure built for the whole family, ADIOS packs realistic physics in a colorful, comic package and is re-releasing on PS4 and PS5 today as ADIOS Amigos: Galactic Explorers with a pod full of new content.
What’s New?
Serving as the definitive edition of the game, Galactic Explorers includes a new intro campaign which is fully playable in co-op, a new ground-roving shuttle to zip across the surface of new planets in, improved camera controls which now allow free zooming, birds, parties and much more (bird parties not included).
Let’s Get Physical
ADIOS’ astrophysics keeps it real but you may not want to when you realize what you can do with it. Towing a giant mushroom into orbit? Check. Need to swap out the interior decor of your space house for a fresh new look? Use gravity to catapult last season’s furniture into the sun. Exasperated with your co-op buddies and need to take five? Ride a sofa into a blackhole backwards Dr Strangelove style, all while being accompanied by Joakim Kanon’s stellar soundtrack (soaring saxophone solos most definitely included).
