Fans of Stardew Valley have been eagerly awaiting more announcements from the Stardew Valley creator and solo developer Eric Barone (aka. Concerned Ape) for their newest game Haunted Chocolatier. This new indie game is still currently in development, and was revealed in 2021 as a new cosy RPG and life simulator.
However, fans of the indie game have been uncovering cryptic clues hidden away in the various screenshots posted on Twitter within the last few months, including what some eagle-eyed fans claim is a teaser for Haunted Chocolatier’s launch date.
While the Haunted Chocolatier website states that ConcernedApe “can’t commit to a release date yet”, it’s hard not to get excited with this latest nugget of information. Whether or not this is simply a coincidence or a teaser stays unconfirmed by the indie developer, and remains to be seen in the future.
What is Haunted Chocolatier?
Described as an “RPG/simulation game”, the Stardew Valley creator has confirmed a basic premise of the game’s story so far. “[Y]ou will play as a chocolatier living in a haunted castle,” says ConcernedApe. “In order to thrive in your new role, you will have to gather rare ingredients, make delicious chocolates, and sell them in a chocolate shop.”
While other details are few and far between, ConcernedApe has also cleared up some other burning questions for future players – including that Haunted Chocolatier will be a single-player action RPG, making it a different vibe to the multiplayer aspect of Stardew Valley.
Where can I play Haunted Chocolatier?
ConcernedApe remains secretive as ever about the development of Haunted Chocolatier. “The only platform I am 100% certain about is PC,” according to HauntedChocolatier.net. “However, I have every intention of bringing it to the other major platforms as well.”
Given that Stardew Valley started out solely on PC and was ported out to consoles (Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PlayStation) and even mobile at a later date, chances are we can expect the same for Haunted Chocolatier.
