Heaven’s Machine Offers One Heck of Literal Ride

Heaven's Machine is a chaotic, fast-paced roguelite set on a cosmic train racing towards heaven. It was launched as the first ever limited print, physical-only Nintendo Switch game.

Glass Revolver, the creator of ITTA, is bringing a new top-down, action-packed title that once again, sees you going up against elements of the supernatural. Heaven’s Machine is a chaotic, fast-paced roguelite set on a cosmic train racing towards heaven. It’s like Speed, but with no bus, and stars Constantine–if you get the Keanu Reeves references.

You wake up as the main character, Jack at the end of a speeding immortal engine set for the afterlife. With no other choice than to pick up a gun, pull the trigger, and run headlong to the main cabin, there’s nothing but demonic danger and peril that awaits.

Players will find themselves traveling through a randomly-generated train, grabbing dozens of unique items, blasting hundreds of enemies, and battling bizarre, otherworldly monsters. A challenging Night Train mode can be unlocked, where all train cars, enemies, bosses, and shops become randomized. As if your original ordeal wasn’t hard enough.

The game was first released back in November 2021 by Super Rare Games under ‘Super Rare Shorts.’ It was launched as the first ever limited print, physical-only Nintendo Switch game.

“Super Rare Shorts was an initiative  As part of our promise for preservation and accessibility, we said we’d make sure Heaven’s Machine was later released digitally, DRM-free here on itch.io,” the developers said.
