Game studio Superstring, who’s been dedicated to developing unique game hybrids, just released the Acolyte: Voice Within Update. This entails dynamic, fully-voiced dialogue thanks to a partnership with TTS-developers, ReadSpeaker.
This substantial update includes a new Horoscope Module, new Jokes and Interesting Facts–all of which can be retrieved via natural language input. Aside from this, players will be treated to hundreds of lines of new dialogue, and a slew of fixes and improvements.
The game takes advantage of the Spirit AI Character Engine, allowing players to converse with their Acolyte in real time via a series of text exchanges. The full game combines non-linear storytelling with ambitious puzzles and a wider ARG (Alternate Reality Game). Players become an employee of Nanomax – a well-funded tech start-up looking to change the face of consumer AI. As a remote QA tester for the company, you’ll unravel a certain mystery that’s pivotal to the game’s plot.
