With PAX East quickly approaching, many publishers and developers are announcing their booths, and an interesting one is DreadXP, who will be attending for the first time. DreadXP is an independent horror publisher and production company responsible for games like Dread Delusion, Sucker for Love and Spookware, amongst others. They describe themselves as ‘an indie horror production and publication label that focuses on unique, experimental titles that have been overlooked by the bigger labels. The company is passionate about creating a positive horror community with a focus on supporting developers and delivering the unique content genre fans crave.’
“Almost two years after the release of our very first game, DreadXP will soon celebrate its growth as a games publisher by making its debut at PAX East 2022,” said Ted Hentschke, Head of Productions at DreadXP. “We’re all extremely excited to exhibit at the show for the first time and offer hands-on demos to attendees. And while we’ll never truly leave behind the grungy, dark dwelling where the company’s humble beginnings originated from, we’re excited to see DreadXP enter the big leagues and spread our “positively spooky” brand of games to more fans. We’re only just getting started as well.”
DreadXP will be showing off five titles, four of which are new! Dread Delusion, a retro-aesthetic fantasy RPG in a world brimming with dark perils. My Friendly Neighbourhood, where you are a repairman tasked with shutting down the sudden broadcast of a long-cancelled children’s show. The Mortuary assistant, the viral survival horror game where you are called in for some late night embalming, and find that you can’t leave. SPOOKWARE Multiplayer, a new multiplayer game mode that will be coming to the warioware-inspired RPG, but you can play it first at PAX East 2022. Finally, the smash-hit visual novel Sucker for Love will be playable at the show, and new players can face the elder god and maybe try to get a smooch.
Attendees can find DreadXP on the PAX East show floor at Booth #20079, in the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, from April 21 – April 24, 2022 during Expo Hall hours (10:00 AM – 6:00 PM ET). Follow and engage with DreadXP on Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, and join the community on Discord.
