Inspired by the likes of Silent Hill and Stranger Things, solo dev MystiveDev’s upcoming title ‘Mirror Forge’ has just received it’s release date. An official description reads; ‘Roam between realities of fear, madness & machinery. Solve puzzles, explore an atmospheric world, survive horrifying entities in an immersive storyline where your choices matter.’
Much like in Silent Hill, the game will reflect the character’s turmoil in metaphorical ways. The protagonist has hidden guilt from a drunk driving accident and this is explored in the game’s setting, as the dev puts it; “The level & environment design, the characters, whether good or evil, are all symbolically designed to reflect the main protagonist’s inner turmoil.”
A new trailer has been released for the game, and it has a full release date, after being enjoyed in it’s early forms by ‘over 250+ content creators’. The new trailer shows off a mechanic similar to the primary mechanic of Silent Hill origins and segments of The Medium, being able to traverse two different worlds by interacting with mirrors.
You can see the new trailer here, and wishlist the game on Steam (as well as trying the free demo).
