The GDWC (Game Development World Championship) has opened submissions for the 2022 championship!
The Game Development World Championship, or GDWC for short, is the largest game developer focused competition in the world. It’s been running each year in its current form since 2016, and in 2020 featured over 1800 participating development teams from over 100 countries. The competition lasts for almost an entire year, and the 2022 season submission period runs from March 7th 2022 for a whole year, ending on February 28th 2023. During this time GDWC also runs a series of events and activities to highlight participating games and developers.
The GDWC accepts submissions from game developers of all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds. ‘You’re welcome to submit your game whether you’re a professional developer, a hobbyist, a student, or just interested in game development in general.’ The competition culminates in an award show in Spring of 2023, but is a fully online competition that anyone, anywhere can join.
