After multiple years of delays and silence from the developers, we’ve finally received news about The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, including receiving what is (hopefully) the final release window for the ultimate, complete and perfectly whole version of the 2011 indie hit. A game of many, many endings, The Stanley Parable provided limitless creativity and seemingly endless choices. A simple first person, constantly narrated experience that anyone who has played it will tell you has no right being as good as it is.
Developer Crows Crows Crows teased ‘news’ on their twitter just before the release date reveal, alongside keeping hype with regular memes. The initial announcement of Ultra Deluxe at the Game Awards was in 2018 with the release planned for 2019; however, since then, they have held mostly silence around the release. Their last game Accounting+, a VR experience developed alongside Rick and Morty creator Justin Roiland’s studio Squanch Games which was released in 2018, was the only major news other than the delays.

They did, however, manage to make light of the situation, with some great videos tastefully poking fun at themselves and gently announcing delays, with the delayed release date planned for 2020. Which was then shifted forward to 2021 via tweet.
On December 1st, the (hopefully) final release window was announced in the below trailer by the in-game narrator, as their others have been, with an extended sequence of the narrator acknowledging the lack of news and delays, and calling their developers out for self-confessed ‘lies’. The narrator gets progressively angrier until settling on Early 2022 and threatening the development team with the sound of a ticking clock.
The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe is a new version of The Stanley Parable featuring new endings, areas and improved visuals. The game will finally be releasing in early 2022 (promise) so it’s not long to wait now!
