Independent developer and publisher Mostly Games will be launching their Kickstarter campaign to fund PEPPERED, a heavily narrative-driven, light-hearted 2D platformer which aims at subverting well-known gaming tropes to tell a story about the existential struggles of everyday life.

The game features a world where nobody ever dies, and the God of Death is on the verge of breaking free–not the usual hijinks and shenanigans, but rather gloom and doom. Luckily, life presents the player with an opportunity to take this matter into their own hands with a variety of ways to approach the task.

Overall, players will be treated to a platformer that feels like a TV show, complete with choices that affect the characters and plot. In terms of the setting, it’s a quirky world to explore with existential real-life themes to experience. With secrets to unlock, multiple endings, and a bunch of puzzles and minigames, this might be a game to tickle your fancy.
