Hitting PC and Xbox Game Pass on January 13th, 2022 – Stray Bombay’s indie debut The Anacrusis might just turn out to be the stylish successor to the horde shooter throne that players have been waiting for.
With Chet Faliszek (Portal, Half-Life, Left 4 Dead) and Dr. Kimberly Voll (League of Legends) at the wheel, The Anacrusis is promising to come out swinging on January 13th and turn 2022 out. The indie horde shooter will be hitting PC and Xbox as well as Xbox Game Pass with full cross-play support between the two platforms.

What’s the Word?
‘The Anacrusis is a four-player, cooperative first-person shooter set aboard a massive starship stranded at the edge of explored space. Team up with your friends in an infinitely-replayable fight against alien hordes to unlock perks, weapons, and new ways to play that you can share with your team!’
Fight the Director
The real stand out feature of The Anacrusis is the artificial intelligence behind the alien horde – AI Director 2.0. It knows the game inside out, it knows how you’re doing – whether you’re tired, thirsty for more, on the backfoot or breezing through. What does it do with this information? Pushes players right to edge of their seat whilst leaving enough room for their own decisions to be the deciding factor in success or failure. This isn’t a spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead, its the technological one.
Mod Support
With a real love of mod support coming from the developers themselves and room for mods baked in from the beginning, community content is a feature we’re very excited to see grow under The Anacrusis’ umbrella.
